The rapid growth of electric vehicle battery manufacturing has led to an increased demand for next-generation laser processing systems that can accelerate manufacturing throughput and maintain competitive cost of ownership while achieving the highest quality welding for batteries. The PH20 SmartWeld+ is available with a maximum output of 6 kW, allowing for precise control of penetration depth even for long weld seams as seen in individual battery cells. Introducing research and development that has integrated a total of 1400W laser light sources into a high-power multi-beam processing head!

Our company has conducted research and development on a blue and near-infrared wavelength multi-beam "Laser Coating System." Based on the results of the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) project, Shimadzu Corporation commercialized a high-brightness blue semiconductor laser oscillator with an output of 100W in January 2018. Additionally, Furukawa Electric Co., Ltd. is independently developing a multi-line near-infrared semiconductor laser with an output of 200W across 6 lines, resulting in a total laser output of 1400W. This has led to the introduction of a high-output multi-beam (multi-color) processing head based on the results of the Cabinet Office's SIP project (Innovative Design and Manufacturing Technology).
